Music & lyrics (in "italic"): Politik, by Chris Martin, Coldplay Poetry "between" lyrics: deborah t. hewitt Art: Title, "Content" - New street mural for O-Town Walls, Ontario, California, by artist JEKS ONE I photographed this mural during the end of the day with long shadows. I thought it was interesting that the title, "Content," is what many of us desire. Simple contentment. Blessed -- until we are suddenly challenged with a hard life event, or the hideous disease of social canceling versus open, kind discourse. Agree to disagree and move on. Respect our differences and be there for each other despite. Hence the heavy black shadow/line through the face of a content human being. Life is fragile. A ticking time bomb played out in politiking. Play the music loud. Scream if you want. I know I have.
For context: On September 11th, 2001, after the shocking terrorist attacks on American soil, where over 2,900 innocent people were murdered, Chris Martin (Coldplay) sat down, stunned, like the rest of the world, and wrote this song. It remains a wailing for today. For the Iranian people as I type. I hope he can see how he never needed to buy into politiking in recent years. This is for all human beings around the world who have no voice. No real freedom. For those who hide in underground churches learning about true freedom. Reading illegal Bibles, learning they are free in Christ, truly loved by Him and Him alone -- and willing to die, as He did -- for truth -- for the freedom of future generations. Psalm 18:32 (came up on my phone app as the verse of the day) - "It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way clear." Watch the people of Iran, armed in His strength. He has made their way clear. This is a bone chilling, historical cry for true freedom. Pray for them. Pray over the gift of earth. And live for heaven. deb ox
