POLITIKING

an American dystopian

Look at Earth from outer space
Everyone must find a place
Give me time and give me space
Give me real, don't give me fake

Jesus give me real
Look at earth, take the wheel
give me space from surreal
Iran, Your reveal

Give me strength, reserve control
Give me heart and give me soul
Give me time, give us a kiss
And tell me your own politik

Jesus give me self-control
afflict my weary soul
hear their cries, extol
true freedom is their goal

And open up your eyes
Open up your eyes
Open up your eyes
Open up your eyes

Jesus open my eyes
America is the prize
not oppression in disguise
or every blessing our demise?

Give me one 'cause one is best
In confusion, confidence
Give me peace of mind and trust
But don't forget the rest of us

Jesus give me one cause
LOVE over humanity's flaws
Balm which heals scars
But don’t forget Hope in the stars

Give me strength, reserve control
Give me heart and give me soul
Wounds that heal and cracks that fix
Tell me your own politik

Jesus stop the politiking
help us listen, stop digging
holes that keep us dripping
blood instead of living.

And open up your eyes
Open up your eyes
Open up your eyes
Open up your eyes
Just open up your eyes

Jesus just open, open, open
ears and eyes that are broken
drive us toward Awoken
blanket us in devotion

And give me love over - false emotion
Love over - explosion
Love over this - repulsion
And give me love over - slogan
Love over - corrosion
Love over this - American dystopian

Art: Title, "Content" - New street mural for O-Town Walls, Ontario, California,
by artist JEKS ONE

I photographed this mural during the end of the day with long shadows. I thought it was interesting that the title, "Content," is what many of us desire. Simple contentment. Blessed -- until we are suddenly challenged with a hard life event, or the hideous disease of social canceling versus open, kind discourse. Agree to disagree and move on. Respect our differences and be there for each other despite. Hence the heavy black shadow/line through the face of a content human being.

Life is fragile. A ticking time bomb played out in politiking.

Play the music loud. Scream if you want. I know I have.

For context: On September 11th, 2001, after the shocking terrorist attacks on American soil, where over 2,900 innocent people were murdered, Chris Martin (Coldplay) sat down, stunned, like the rest of the world, and wrote this song. It remains a wailing for today. For the Iranian people as I type. I hope he can see how he never needed to buy into politiking in recent years. This is for all human beings around the world who have no voice. No real freedom. For those who hide in underground churches learning about true freedom. Reading illegal Bibles, learning they are free in Christ, truly loved by Him and Him alone -- and willing to die, as He did -- for truth -- for the freedom of future generations.

Psalm 18:32 (came up on my phone app as the verse of the day) - "It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way clear."

Watch the people of Iran, armed in His strength. He has made their way clear. This is a bone chilling, historical cry for true freedom. Pray for them.

Pray over the gift of earth. And live for heaven.
