Oh such a handsome photoof George Harrison! Interesting how bueatiful music is made together and eventually that togetherness is lost in the journey. At least, the music lives on through many, many generations.

I'm so excited to find you too! Thank you for reading this! The Beatles sure left a legacy of music for all of us and so much of it reminds me of childhood and my homeland. I loved that picture of George Harrison because it reminded me of my dad :) ox

The Least of These

The dark clouds roll over heavy rains

The river will flood the town

The call goes out for volunteers

To throw more sandbags down

Do what you want do what you can

Do whatever you please

But whatever you do to the least of these

Remember you do into me

Remember you do into me

The tornado is gone and so is the town

All that's left are the ruins and cries

A nd all that's left of a mom and dad

Is the look in their daughter's eyes

You can kill with a glance or a stroke of a pen

You can bomb from a high flying plane

You can take a man's wife you can take a man's life

Make a hole where nothing remains

So if you have a choice, if you have a chance

If you have an inkling or two

Remember the Lord loves the least of these

There"s a wrong and a right thing to do

What a beautiful and moving article. I do remember their rise, and -sadly- their drifting apart.

Thank you so much Joyce! They were and remain such an iconic band. It's amazing to re-visit stories about them and pour through why I was so attracted to certain songs... speaking to me when I was younger. Now that I'm older, I know why.

Oh! And I really love the Beatles art. ✨

So interesting to read, I love your thoughtful take on the lyrics. My parents were Beatles fans, so I grew up listening. I love while my guitar gently weeps. So full of meaning and feeling. I love your reflection on it. Thank you so much.

Thank you Jenn for taking the time to read this! I love that you grew up listening to your parents play The Beatles. It's funny because my husband said, "what about The Long and Winding Road?" Well... that was Paul's lament during their tumultuous times ✨. There are so many stories to tell!

Oh and yesss! The painting or copy of the Nemoy - - could not have a gallery wall without the people who hold special meaning in my life. That represents my parents, my family and my birth country 🎶 Thank you again. ox

Their music has certainly had an impact on me and some of it has become my music ☺️. Music and stories go together like icing on cake and I love the significance the art holds for you, that’s beautiful.

Thank you, this really touched me today. I was in the fourth grade when you moved to America and I see The Beatles through a similar lens as yourself. Like you, I grew up with them. It seems like just yesterday John left and it’s hard to believe he was only 40. Where does time go?

The allegory between The Beatles and American politics is an interesting coming from your perspective. Awesome piece I’m sharing with my hubby. The Beatles chat his life when he was in the 6th grade. 🤗💖✨

Thank you for reading it Charlotte! It does feel like yesterday when John was taken too soon and it's hard to believe George went to young too.

The Beatles were part of what we clung to as immigrants. It was always the music on the old console. Whenever they played, I felt like a piece of "home" was in my home in America. I envisioned the family we left behind. I'd love to hear how they changed your husband's life. wow. I'm so glad this spoke to you today - as your story spoke to me as well 🙏🏻 Thank you for sharing this with him and for your love and kindness. oxox

I really enjoyed reading this, Deborah. I was never much of a Beatles fan in my younger days (I preferred the Stones and the Who) but over time I’ve grown to appreciate their music. Like you, “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” is one of my all time favourite songs and I loved what you wrote about it. It made the song more meaningful to me.

Your tie into American politics was very interesting. Sadly, I don’t think it’s just an American problem.

Hope you have a great weekend!

Thank you so much for reading & commenting Mark! I loved The Who and the Stones too.

Song lyrics can really speak to me and I always adored Harrison's. I love "My Sweet Lord." He had a way that at times was overlooked.

You're right about "insert country here________________.". Guess America was supposed to be held to a higher constitutional standard. Sigh.

Wow…so much detail here I didn’t know. Thank you for such interesting research, Deborah…you put your heart into all you write! Your perspective of these songs make me stop and think…funny how we’d sing along all those years ago…lyrical, rhyming words but little attention to meanings. Meanings we came to find out about in the latest documentary of the group. Beatles forever! As far as politics

and humanity…my forever favorite is Let It Be. Well done my friend! 😊🎶

Thank you Joan 😘

Means a lot! Everything you said! We come back to the music again and again as often there is far more meaning than we know.

"Let It Be" is my mom's favorite too ❤️

Agree…music moves us, calms us, gives us a good cry, just like hymns in church… meaningful if we listen and pull it inside ourselves.

Thank you so much Misha. It's frustrating when it comes to politics. I have learned a lot and I see more clearly than ever. Harrison's last words weigh on my heart. Everything can wait.. except for seeking a relationship with God.

Hope you're enjoying your weekend. ox
