My heart pounded reading your essay Deborah. I just break down and cry when I learn more about animal abuse cases. God’s creatures who can’t fend for themselves, and given to us as gifts snd companions by our caring Father. It just breaks my heart.

Out here in the country dumped dogs form packs, turn wild and roam through the groves of citrus, grapes and nut trees. And then there’s the pit I’ll fighting, and cock fighting. I actually know a respectable guy who spends money at cock fights. So these people can be your average neighbors. Of course now, I’ve distanced myself when I discovered his pastime.

As bad as animals have it here, it’s worse in LA. There’s no where for them to go in their wild state.

Heartbreak, heartbreak, heartbreak

❤️‍🩹💔❤️‍🩹 😭

God has granted you a gift of writing about animal abuse travesty. I’ll be honest, I just want to sometimes hide from it. Bless you; you are a true keeper of our creatures. 🙏✨💜

Dear Charlotte, it’s really had me with my heart pounding and a few headaches lately. Such a helpless feeling to see the overwhelming amount of abuse towards the innocent and the extreme dumping of so many puppies and purebreds. We need a moratorium on breeders and breeding - no matter who is doing it. It’s completely out of control. Our streets need tending to in the most Godly of ways. Period. I pray a revival over this state and that our leaders turn to Him. It’s the fall of Rome. The dog fighting and cock fighting is disgusting. Poor dogs dumped and roaming in packs. Crazy stuff. And our leaders look away. They look away from suffering and the law - by design. I’m here to spread awareness. It’s my mission. I wish we could rescue more - but I can share and I can make people understand what they don’t know about. At the very least. The incredible, most revered purebreds are being euthanized in droves in this state (probably other states too - Texas is high). Never seen anything like it. Thank you for reading friend. Hugging you from afar. I know you have a huge heart for this. Love you. oxox

Very well written & thought provoking article. How times have changed in the California we came to when it was a dream destination. It's so horrible to see what's happening on the streets of L.A.

Thank you mom. Yes, it’s so very sad how times are different from when you and dad brought me to the States. But the troubles are a constant repeat of history. We just never think it could be worse or that we would live during these troubled times. We hope not to face them. It’s sad that most politicians (that the people vote in) ruin so much with their ambivalence - the very thing they promise not to do - while taking good care of themselves. It’s not all politicians - but I wish the people could open their eyes and see. Love you. oxox

It does feel like end times Mary :(. It’s beyond heartbreaking. Prayer is what we do have and making people aware. These are rough days for so many. Strange to be alive in such historically bad times. We are the hopeful, the creative - the ones that will try and carry us forward until He comes back. oxox

You are a helper… you are so persistent in fighting for these animals. My heart goes out to

them where you are, and where I am. Adopt, don’t shop is the slogan here. As for govt. …you’d know best, my friend. Too many of us get stuck on CA beauty, beaches, celebrities, the newest trends. Appreciate your honest assessment of what’s going on and maybe all is not as it seems! I like Gov Newsome…seems nice enough. No idea how he governs. Your writing is the best, my friend… I can feel your frustration…rage! I see clearly the streets filled with addicts and homeless. I’m sorry I’m late to reading/commenting…I do have to go to your page! 🤨😡 My only wish is you’ll soon be back on top, back in the circle of daily must-reads! One of the best writers on this platform… you are so loved and cherished! I love where you wrote somewhere that your grandkids keep you real, sane, happy, and the reason you fight for right! Equal rights and empathy and kindness! What a blessing you are, Nana! 😍😘🫶💕

You are one of the most loving and kindest friends I have here. Thank you for this. It's beyond what I am worthy. I am just a voice trying to make people aware of ongoing suffering all around us. There has been much to deal with (in the best way possible) concerning our homeless and drug addicted. The insane brutality of animal abuse, child trafficking - that has gone uncared for - for decades. That's what I look at when I look at leaders of any type preaching or stirring public craziness. I imagine the energy going to this suffering and it's not 😞

I ask why? It's why I can't buy into any political party as a whole.

It's up to us in the end. We do our best for each other. Love you Joan. Thank you 🙏🏻😘

Trudi, it’s been so bad for so many years and what was one skid row has grown to 50 and keeps growing. The nefarious activities, the abuse of the innocent — it’s all too much. We have to climb out of the matrix — of how we are all being played and realize how politics plays out for the benefit of those in power. Never for the suffering. And pray. oxox

Deborah, your post made me cringe and tear up. What will we do? How can anyone fix all this suffering? I don't have any answers. It makes me feel sick.

Francesca, all we can do is pray for something to change. It’s been so bad here with homelessness and drug use for so long. I’ve never seen so much animal abuse and dumping — or an over amount of breeding. Just yesterday a contact at a desert shelter filmed car after car with cages of different puppies waiting in line to dump them. Border collies, shepherds, on and on and a box on the sidewalk someone left completely taped up with 10 puppies inside. Humanity is going backwards. Nothing like we’ve ever seen. And yet - our politicians continue to look away. All their games are played over our heads — over our lives. I love my home and my family - but so many times I want to move to Mars :( Mostly we just can’t let any side of politics fool us. I take it to the streets and see who cares. This is where we find the real helpers. Thank you for reading. My goal is to make people aware.

Oh my friend - I have been so upset and sad inside - but all we can do is continue to pray for change. It’s overwhelming. We have to make people aware and get out of the matrix of politicians playing games over our heads, dividing us — and see what is really happening - who is helping and who is not. After more rioting - all I could see is the Roman Games where these politicians just sit in the stands and watch everything burn for pleasure. But they do it everyday with the problems we already have and do not care about the suffering of the innocent. Salaries are inflated, corruption is huge - and yet they scream in their prideful tones. So sick of it. This weekend is going to be more explosive around our country and possibly in the Middle East. We must “live” and be vigilant at the same time. Thank you for reading. oxox

I've been feeling these same feelings. Never been to California but I see a lot of chaos there. I encountered suspicion when I was travelling to Canada to see my future husband the few months before we married. I would be pulled over and questioned. Asked why I was crossing from Michigan to Ontario. Was I living with him? I had my son, a toddler, with me and we were both under suspicion, I would imagine for taking advantage of Ontario Health Care since neither of us had money ! :0 (he was just a kid. I was a single mom, working and making my own way)

If this is the way that those in power treat people who are honest, how will they behave toward animals who are just honestly trying to make their own way in the world. They don't have an advocate like I had in my future husband at the time.

I know this comparison is a stretch but your post made me so angry. The earthly powers that seem to be unbeatable are really weak and pathetic.

Let these people who support cruelty and selfish gain stay where they are and wallow in their misery if that's what they need. And thanks to those who care for the voiceless casualties. Bless the Beasts and the Children.

Thank you for telling your story Jenni. Everything just feels so broken, with zero priorities for the suffering. It has been breaking my heart for years - but we do have, and have always had, the power of prayer. We have to continue to pray over our leaders, our cities, states and our country - And help by making people aware. oxox
