..couldn't put Humpty together again.”
Mr. President, leave California alone. It’s working just the way it’s meant to work.
Just take a look at the video above. This is every single day. For decades. We ask here in California — how can it get worse? and it does.
Please leave it alone.
THIS WEEK, AFTER YEARS AND YEARS OF BEING IGNORED BY LOCAL CITY LEADERS, POLICE AND MEDIA — FINALLY, — ONE ANIMAL ADVOCACY GROUP “STARTS WITH ONE” — HAS MADE THE LOCAL NEWS. TWICE. THEY ALSO DEMONSTRATED WHAT A “PEACEFUL PROTEST” SHOULD LOOK LIKE THIS PAST SUNDAY, WHEN JUST BLOCKS AWAY, MAYHEM AND POLITICAL GAMES WERE BEING PLAYED OUT. STILL ONGOING.
We are living in historical times of suffering and Godlessness mixed with the beauty of noticers and carers.
Where so many good people, like those on this video, are tirelessly not looking away. Feeding 500 people on Skid Row every week. Loving them like Jesus would. But what is happening in broad daylight to many of the animals is something they have tried to draw attention too for years. (Let alone the extreme drug use and horrifying poverty)
It’s criminal. Even more criminal when the animal advocates show up at city hall to speak — the council members get up and walk away. No one does anything from the police to animal services. In fact, a few weeks ago this group were given a parking ticket when they were trying to feed the homeless and the animals. Abused, starving and thirsty animals in cages. It takes months of patience and love to get an abused animal away from it’s abuser.
No California politician has truly cared about it for decades. In fact people of self importance (influencers with money) care so little about the crimes against the animals they supposedly support — that they are willing to call out the leader of this group for “liking” (hearting) the fact that a well known conservative “liked” and commented on this peaceful protest for the animals on Skid Row (on Instagram). Read that again. The leader capitulated.
We are a ridiculous disingenuous selfish society.
The police department points this group back to animal services — who are fueling this problem by “giving” breeding permits to the sidewalk residents of Skid Row. But they breed without permits anyways. They do it to test drugs on these animals. They do it to sell puppies into dog fighting rings leaving Skid Row in Rolls Royces and other expensive cars. They do it to buy drugs from the gangs. They do it to sell a puppy to another homeless person for a $5 dollar fentanyl hit. They do it because they can.
And our kings and queens look away.
We have had a criminal element ruling the streets of Los Angeles since the 1920’s. And if gang members are rarely prosecuted why wouldn’t our policy makers let criminal elements from other countries get away with crimes?
They. do. not. care.
Everything you are seeing is political optics. It’s a dangerous matrix that one must have the strength to climb out of.
Before the riots, the City of Los Angeles was already under investigation for mismanagement of homeless funds. The City of Los Angeles Animal Services is under audit for abuse of funds and mass euthanasia. They do not do the jobs we tax payer’s pay for.
Bad policies create bad things.
California does not deserve this. Her oceans, mountains, forests — every living creature swimming and walking through human feces, drugs, garbage and toxic ash now, from the Palisades fires — Burn structures in Malibu are slowly deteriorating into the ocean in trade for dead sea life taking up residence on their shore.
To be “progressive” means you must make progress. We are in a decline.
I watch as my husband, a third generation private electrical contractor battles to work in this state. I’ll show you a king. Go to any city planning desk. Talk to a Palisades fire victim who lost their home. They will be too scared to tell you the truth. We must play along with this nonsense voted in on a promise of “hope and change.”
Nope.
What you saw on the news all weekend, and presently — with a national “No Kings Day” coming this Saturday, June 14th — fueled, once again, by politics, with over 190 groups pumping money and energy into this — will help no one. Especially the suffering.
It’s a million percent disgusting.
Mayor Bradly, who was managing L.A. during the Watts Riots of 1992 — where a total of 63 people died in six days, had problems. We have problems. Every politician knows it. Every president and city leader sees it and it’s coming again because it’s been this way a long, long time. Look at Mayor Yorty before Bradley and how bitter their personal battle was — and so on and so forth. Look at Mayor Bass and her broken promises layered in expensive suits and a trip to Paris to proudly wave an Olympic flag for a city that is dying. A city that burned to the ground in January. Look at her broken down fire department. The water problem. The homelessness.
All within blocks of Hollywood and Beverly Hills where many politicians reside.
In 1973, by Jr. High, my friend in Arleta was arrested for helping hold up a gas station. Her dad, a former Mexican G.I. married a British bride. They were my parent’s best friends. They had three daughters. Shelly was the middle child and my close friend. I rode my bike to her house all the time. She was proud of her Mexican last name and was accepted into a gang. She has ridden the Greyhound Therapy Bus (the “hide them” temporarily policy) back and forth from the desert to some underpass near Watts. Not sure she’s even alive anymore. That’s what government has done with our homeless for years. I’ve written about it in End Times. It covers a lot of the Reagan blame for this problem as well. This is exactly what Mayor Bass, or whoever will be the next mayor, will do, when it’s time for the 2028 Olympics preparation.
Where do the homeless go when the streets “are cleaned up???”
We have a long history of citizen dissatisfaction, due to insane economic disparities, stoked racial tension and poor leadership.
I came here to Southern California in 1963 with parents who filled out every form (I have them) and practically begged (I have the letter) to come to the U.S. with very little money, after selling everything they owned plus a little savings. Six month visas were granted and if my dad didn’t have a job by the end - we were going to be sent back home to England. That’s how it worked. We know people that this happened to. I have been involved in writing support letters for two separate couples whose spouses were going to be deported because our government “believed” they were not in love. They were accused of using marriage for citizenship. One an Aussie and the other Chinese. Truth. A cycling friend and a wedding client. This type of accusation actually fuels more illegal immigration. Our own government making it hard on ordinary honest people.
But I have no problem with the arrest and prosecution of hardened criminals who drive fear into our communities — — to the point that our local police department announced on their Facebook to “be diligent.” Do you mean get a gun?
When any government, federal or local, allows lawlessness it’s not the people’s fault. It’s government’s fault. It’s the parent’s fault. They know what they are doing. That’s how life works in almost every single home regardless of your politics. So we can’t be hypocrites.
Last year, future presidential candidate, Governor Gavin Newsom bought a 9 million dollar second home for his daughter and himself to live in — (A mid century home worth drooling over) — so his daughter could attend a private 65k/a year high school. Who’s a King? Now he figures he can once again throw even more money/bandages onto the state’s homeless problems with zero policy changes and zero figuring out who needs what. (another 3 billion). The homeless are not a one stop fix. Many need drug rehab. Many refuse to live inside. Many are abusing dogs and doing drugs - rotting on St. Julian Street. It takes work. And policy change. Newsom is only willing to flail his arms and mouth on occasion and blame anyone but himself.
Billions and billions of wasted tax payer dollars.
But back to the California Circus riots.
All the “King’s horses and all the King’s men” are all around us. Every politician in the state of California that has allowed the type of abuse and homelessness to continue are acting like kings and queens — while they eat well and sleep well.
We don’t want these kings and queens ruling over us. March yourselves out of here. You broke California a long time ago.
Humpty is broken and it’s your fault.
There are also good people all around us doing the work government refuses to do.
Listen to them.
As for me, I will use my energy to share the stories of our most innocent, at the very least. I will be a helper.
Don’t be a spectacle to those who are ambivalent to real suffering and do nothing about it.
The real King is watching and still on the throne.
Exodus 20:3
Warning: below is hard to read and look at — just a tiny example of what is happening daily on our streets in Los Angeles. And please adopt from shelters and rescues. You have never seen so many purebred dogs being put to death than in this time in history.

I see the world being slowly transformed into a wilderness; I hear the approaching thunder that, one day, will destroy us too. I feel the suffering of millions. And yet, when I look up at the sky, I somehow feel that everything will change for the better, that this cruelty too shall end, that peace and tranquility will return once more.
— Anne Frank
My heart pounded reading your essay Deborah. I just break down and cry when I learn more about animal abuse cases. God’s creatures who can’t fend for themselves, and given to us as gifts snd companions by our caring Father. It just breaks my heart.
Out here in the country dumped dogs form packs, turn wild and roam through the groves of citrus, grapes and nut trees. And then there’s the pit I’ll fighting, and cock fighting. I actually know a respectable guy who spends money at cock fights. So these people can be your average neighbors. Of course now, I’ve distanced myself when I discovered his pastime.
As bad as animals have it here, it’s worse in LA. There’s no where for them to go in their wild state.
Heartbreak, heartbreak, heartbreak
❤️🩹💔❤️🩹 😭
God has granted you a gift of writing about animal abuse travesty. I’ll be honest, I just want to sometimes hide from it. Bless you; you are a true keeper of our creatures. 🙏✨💜
Very well written & thought provoking article. How times have changed in the California we came to when it was a dream destination. It's so horrible to see what's happening on the streets of L.A.
