Your Uncle sounds like an extremely special man. Thanks for sharing a piece of his story. I'm struck by how it's made up of some very difficult parts, like estrangement, but that weaves into the goodness, truth, and beauty. A lovely example of how God uses all things for good, for those who trust Him to do so (and for many who don't trust Him, too- He's just that good.)
Thank you Krissy. He truly was. We are so sad we hadn't seen him in recent years, however we were able to see him on FB chat here and there. God does use all things for His good and I know that he passed away extremely loved by his family and that's what matters most. Everything is exactly as it is supposed to be and life is a process. He is that good. I'm so thankful I met you here. oxox
Dear Charlotte, thank you so much. He was a great man and we are so thankful he found us. Mum is having a hard time as she spent so much of her life without him. It's taken her back to childhood and her story. When he found her (and us), they tried to make up for lost time. They adored each other.
I’m sure he is reading your beautiful tribute from his heavenly spot among the angels who watch over us.
Late night TV I watch reruns of Unsolved Mysteties. I’m always heartbroken to hear about the ones where siblings are separated in their early years through some traumatic event, but then later in life they are reunited. They almost seem closer than regular siblings as they fill in the gaps of their life.
Please give your mother a warm hug from me. Sending you all much empathy and love, you’ve had a few rough months since tge start of the new year. 💜✨🙏
He truly was and he made every visit count. He left us with much to think about and that is a true legacy. We carry him in our hearts and always have. Love you brother. ox
Wow, Debbie. Those are amazingly beautiful words - and so heartfelt! He sounds like a wonderful man. Like with Roy, I regret that I never got to know him. Please accept our sincerest condolences. Love from Michael and Denise. 💕
Dear Michael and Denise, you are both so kind. Thank you for reading this and for leaving such a lovely comment. You would have absolutely loved them both. Great men! They would have loved you too. oxox
Thank you Debbie for writing this beautiful tribute for the man/brother who changed my life. I will always love him & be always grateful for giving me back the family I lost. I'm so happy I was able to share our family with him after so many years without him.
Oh mom, we were all hit harder than we thought. It has brought back so many memories, regrets for not visiting more often, and just the feeling that he changed our lives forever. He was the best brother to you and uncle to us. I am so glad we had the time we had.
Deepest condolences for your loss dearest Deborah. What a wonderful gift/tribute to your Uncle. He's sure smiling down on you for that. Really beautiful.
Ahhh Vic, thank you so very much. How I wish I was there right now hugging family. Uncle Brian was a special man and left the world a better place. Your condolences mean so much. oxox
I wish you knew me better so you could write such a wonderful tribute for me someday. It’s wonderful to read the love and respect that comes through between the lines of this story.
Oh Charles, I wish I knew you better too. I'd meet you for coffee every week so we could shoot the breeze about the past and the latest! The cool thing is, through your nostalgia pieces, I'm getting a bit of an idea. The beauty of writing. Thank you for this incredibly lovely comment. God Bless you friend. ox
Truly heartfelt💜💜 Your Love shines brightly thru this entire Peace. I am truly saddened for your loss, and Sending U and your Family so Much Love & Healing. Thank U for sharing your memories and May your Uncle Rest in Eternal Peace👑👑💜💜
Dear Reina, you are so kind. Thank you. We are sad we hadn’t seen our lovely Uncle in several years, although we have chatted on Facebook chat (which has been a blessing especially to my mum who loved her brother so much it’s hurting bad) but he will always go down as the very best. It’s hit quite hard. Our whole life and all the stories.
I need to catchup with you soon. Sending you a huge hug and much love always. oxox
Life is so precious and God sends people to teach us how to be better people .ln the presence of earthly angels l am humbled.God rest your Uncle Brian, Deborah 🙏 🕊️ ♥️ X.
Thank you my dear friend Mary. He does send us angels and Uncle Brian was definitely one of those in our life. If it weren't for him we wouldn't have been found. My mum is almost 89, the oldest sibling, and she is very sad and very reflective on the precious time she had with her brother.
Deborah, what a beautifully written tribute. I had a favorite uncle too. My mother's brother was an absolute gem of a man, actually that whole side of my family was gold. Anyway, great piece about your uncle who sounds like he was one hell of a man. - Jim
Thank you Jim. I love that your mom had a great family and you experienced a favorite uncle. Uncle Brian was definitely one hell of a man and without him we would have never been found or have known the love of an uncle like him. Even from afar. ox
What a wonderful piece of writing about your beloved uncle. I imagine God observing us, smiling and saying "perfectly - imperfect." Perfect - that is just how I made them. I don't make them any better than that.
