I completely understand the frustration with deliverability, Deb, but I’d be careful about stopping email entirely, because email is one of the main reasons many of us subscribe to a Substack in the first place. I'll publish a short post on this later. BTW, thanks a lot for bringing that up.
I’m heading over to comment and I really appreciate you having my back. There are times I am slipping off the big ship and then I say, “hey? wait a minute, what’s going on here?” It’s one thing to enjoy writing, creating and being surprised when someone comes into your creative space to chat, but it’s another thing when systems suppress or confuse, age us out, etc. Being an inherent freedom fighter, and at the same time a believer - I don’t believe for a minute we’re supposed to lie down and take that. We have to learn and keep up. Find the trap doors.
Hi I got your email. But I have my settings on only receiving posts in the app. That said your link in the email I received didn’t work. Another feedback is I cannot read any color of text on a black background very well. Many people appear to have chosen that and now when clicking on posts in the app it takes me right to sites including how the author has it set up. It won’t stop me from reading your work but I’m having issues with vertigo on and off and black backgrounds make it worse, so my reading might be delayed.
Oh my friend! I am so sorry about this and I’ve heard about the black background. I struggled to change it. I didn’t want to - but another glitch that Substack has — is after much research, their movie making “ratio” left black bars no matter what I did and I love to make a movie here and there. As a visual artist — it gives me ocd to see that. <face slap> — so thank you for trying but I don’t expect you to keep up — you have your own wonderful writing to do! My mom listens “in-app” to my work. I was glad for that option because she has macular degeneration really bad — even though she tells me that “the woman speaking sounds exactly like me.” ha ha ha! NO!! She sounds like a robot. lol.
I hope this finds you doing okay. I never see you here at all :( Hoping to do more checking in now that I’m focusing on my fiction piece only. ox
Don't feel lonely. Today I had a post scheduled to go out in the morning. While I got the notification of "sharable assets" the post never went out. So I duplicated it and sent the second one, and of course... people got two. Substack is getting weirder.
lol. Dear Lord!! It's by design crazy-making Kevin! And yes! Substack is also getting weirder and weirder! But I'm here so don't be lonely either! Thanks for writing me!

I’m still posting several times a month. Hope you’ll see some of it. Have a great summer!
Oh it’s not letting me post a screenshot of my email inbox with two of this post and another of yours. 👍
Substack is getting weirder and weirder - but definitely thank you for letting me know friend. ox
