Like many of our generation I grew up on The Waltons in the 1970s, part of the Golden Period. Our family was in the living room around our RCA Console watching faithfully every week. Of course I identified the most with John Boy (Earl Thomas) and his aspirations to be a writer.

But I also liked Olivia Walton (Michael Learned) and Grandpa Walton (Will Geer) for their independent spirit. I also liked the characters of the store owners, Ike and Corabeth Godsey. There was some depth to their character that was not always apparent.

That you were involved as an actress with such a wonderful TV series sounds like a good memory and you ought to be proud of it. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Perry, I love hearing that! Another Golden Period of our lives and I can't believe I was lucky enough to be a small part of that show. I worked with most of the cast and I just adored Will Geer and the cute sisters he was always with, Mamie and Emily Baldwin. When I finally forced myself to go on The Walton's Forum online it was such a blessing. I have met the kindest people that feel like us. They loved these days. We need these shows to stay on t.v. Now we realize how good they were, especially for kids. Thank you for reading my story! I am grateful for the experience. Oh and all of this lead to an interview on Judy Norton's YouTube channel last summer :). I was "Chatty Patsy." ox

It's pretty darn cool that we had these experiences. This read was fun & had me thinking about so many unforgettable moments that we were blessed with.

Now forgive me for cutting this short but I have to go out & terrorize the neighborhood as it's my time of year 🎃

Ha ha! Hope you didn't scare too many people while you sat in your chair in the middle of the street and turned around, ever so slowly, as they came out of their homes!

It truly was some fun and unforgettable moments that we were blessed to have had and we had great parents keeping us small-headed :) (Despite our rather large "Gunn heads!") love you. ox

Just wow…a celebrity in our midst! Loved hearing and seeing you, Deb…just as lovely as your writing and you look so youthful, beautiful at 60! What a wonderful experience for you and your brother! Interesting your passion grew to be behind the camera as an amazing photographer! Thank you for sharing this moment in your life. Made my day seeing you, dear friend! Love and hugs 🩷🤗🥰

ha ha! Not really, but okay! Chatty Patsy! I did that little Instagram thing two summers ago - now I'm going gray on purpose! lol. 63 :). We were truly blessed to have such an unusual experience and had very level headed parents with it all. I realized early it wasn't my passion, although fun. I was far more interested in how the show was made, so I guess I found out what my future passion would be! Thank you so much for your kind comment and for reading this! It took a long time to talk about. Judy Norton also interviewed me on her YouTube channel last summer. I was so nervous! It was 2 parts! She's great! A horsewoman in NorCal. We hope to meet up soon :). ox

I loved the Waltons! Our family used to do the "Good night John Boy" routine and send everybody into fits of giggles. I remember wanting to be like Mary Ellen. I just thought she was so cool. 😊

You are certainly are full of surprises. Very awesome story.

Ha ha! We used to do it too! It was very surreal but I'm glad I decided it wasn't for me. I didn't have the original passion for that. I loved everything visual behind the scenes! The wardrobe department, touching the material from that time period, the camera angles. I found I was far more fascinated with all those details. I guess I found myself there. Judy Norton interviewed me last summer on her YouTube Channel. I was "chatty Patsy" - nervous and not believing I deserved to do it - but it was good fun. She is a horse woman in Northern California - we are hoping to meet up again someday on our way home to Oregon to see my mama. I have met so many beautiful people from going on The Walton's Forum online. Such a blessing. Thank you for reading this Ginger! It took a long time to talk about it :). ox

It's a bit surreal Alexander! You know here we were immigrants and it was not something we knew how to make happen - it just happened through my love of dance. But, kids can be mean and I kept a low profile and realized my purpose was more visual early on. I, like Charlotte, experienced quite young, the strange dynamics of "stars." Ralph Waite ( the dad) would have you thrown off set if he caught you in his eye on set. Lots of stories. But fun too and I appreciate that I had this experience! We were a very normal family! Thank you 🙏🏻😘

Deborah! This is the coolest thing ever! Also, I remember Patsy! I think we’ve watched every episode of the Waltons (and Little House) and reruns.

Oh goodness Sandra! ha ha! You saw! It took so long to talk about this but I have to say God's perfect timing has really blessed me with lifelong friends as a result. The people I have met and their stories of how The Waltons was a comfort during joyful and hard times has meant the world to me. It's all a bit surreal. I'm still trying to convince my brother to get on a Little House forum! When the family moved because of Mary going blind, my brother was the town owner's son. He was the naughty one, I think playing with fireworks, from my recollection? He worked quite a bit on various things. Thank you so much for your comment! ox

Hi Deb, so nice to see this. I am honored to be one of your friends that you met through the WALTONS FORUM. I sent you an email a month or so ago. By any chance did you receive it? Take care. Enjoy the Christmas season with your family. God bless you.

Hi Ned!! How great to see you leave a comment here! and YES! you are definitely one of my most special friends from the Waltons Forum! I haven't seen your email so I wonder if it went to spam again? I recently complained to a friend who is also frustrated from hundreds of emails from advertisers to where we can't see our real email. I have spent hours getting rid of them or unsubscribing (never did suscribe!) only to see them back in my box. Maybe you can forward it to me again? I pray you and your family are doing well and back at it and your son is doing good at school. I'm sure it's hard to be far apart. God keep you this Christmas and always. oxox

This brings back so many memories but especially the one of my mum,.your Nana, who loved The Waltons and especially one of the older gentlemen in the cast. She was so excited when she took my place on the ser one day as your legal guardian. When I came to pick you both up at the end of the day I found Nana deep in conversation with Grandpa Walton. She was reluctant to leave.

That's what I talked about on the little video I made for an Instagram Walton's fan page :) I'll never forget how happy she was to sit with Will Geer and talk about their gardening and other things. They were a cute couple! These were some great days! Thank you for all you did mom to make life normal :) I love you. ox
