This is beautiful, Deb. And what a dream. It seems quite peaceful, and I think you must be right, about those coming after us finding the treasures we’ve sown for them in our gardens.
Oh Jenn, I am late here! or am I? Sometimes I feel like I thank people on a "re-stack" and not the comment. It can get confusing. But thank you from the bottom of my heart always for your support. I know life is very busy for you presently. I believe it is our purpose to sew treasures for another time. Sending you much love. ox
Your poem feels like sacred ground itself—tender, rooted, and quietly radiant. The lines between sowing and knowing, devotions and notions—they linger.
Jay! how did I miss this? I am so grateful for your beautiful comment. Thank you so much for reading. I thought I had responded and perhaps I did in Notes? It gets a bit confusing and sometimes I think I thank (say that 5x fast! ha ha!) on the re-stack. I hope this finds you well. oxox
We are very warm here - but doing well. Thank you :)
I’m not seeing my community here since Substack changed everything and I’ve also been hidden from my community as well for a few months now. I need to compile a list of my friends to check in with. ox
@Deborah T. Hewitt, yes the algorithm is quite annoying. It does not work well on the home feed and is even worse on the Following feed, especially if you are following many people. Yet in order to stay in the loop it seems it is looking at engagement, what you like, what you comment, whom you engage with. And most crazy it works completely different on the iphone as on the iMac. On my iphone I am flooded with video’s, which I hate, not on the iMac or iPad. So I guess you are not the only one complaining about that. I have found it pretty annoying too. @Hamish McKenzie @Chris Best
So moving and powerful. The fence with hearts in it is very similar to the fence at my previous house. It always felt like a special way to come home and walk into the sanctuary of the yard.
I love that you had a similar fence. This was a very old friend’s fence in Oregon. The other image is of my garden when we first saw it. It is most definitely a sanctuary that holds so much meaning.

This is beautiful, Deborah. Magic.
Oh thank you Cesca! This means a lot to me! I love your poetry! And I left a little review. oxox
This felt like a lullaby for my soul, Deborah. Just beautiful.

Thank you for tending this space with such grace.

Deborah, all good. Thank you for asking, thank to the finally more summer-like temps outside I am better. Hope you are feeling well yourself.

Deb,
Your poems are my saving grace. Like dew on the green leaf, they comfort me.

Simply beautiful.
Dear Karen,
Thank you. This made my day! ox
Wow. Chills sent up my spine on that last line. And you dream this?! You straddle this world and beyond.
So moving and powerful. The fence with hearts in it is very similar to the fence at my previous house. It always felt like a special way to come home and walk into the sanctuary of the yard.
Thank you Heidi 🙏🏻
