Oh, Deb. God is at work through you, I think. Thank you for sharing this awe inspiring story. This post is so chock full of wisdom gems. Thank you for sharing your heart and your writing and the work of God ❤️; and the “turn to me” photo is phenomenal.
We did watch, from our house we saw about 75 percent coverage, it was cool. You did not see, being on the west coast? I thank you for the kind thoughts and I hope your week is going well, too!
Oh good!! 🙌🏻 and no, not much to see here! I was so blessed to witness the 2017 total eclipse with my parents! I posted a pic in notes this morning. I still laugh when I think of my dad coming out of his workshop with these hilarious paper plate solar glasses he made 😅. We were in the direct path in small-town Oregon. It was phenomenal!
Thank you Ayesha for reading and for gleaning that! Teaching your children to be kind and sit with the lonely or different kids starts in preschool or kindergarten. By 6th grade my daughter would bring her comics to read with a girl that always sat alone. It was so sweet. ☺️
Thank you Charlotte 🩷 It really was a picture of what God can do. I appreciate you so very much and I know you relate to what I'm writing here. Sending you my love. ox
Oh so did our choir! All the time. (I don’t sing!). My husband has been on worship teams for over 30 years and we marvel at the story of Carol Cymbala, let alone her husband Pastor Jim Cymbala! For an exceptional, short read, get “Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire,” by Pastor Cymbala. It’s incredible. I read it years ago and it’s based on growing a church through The Book of Acts. It’s how it should be. But the story of BTC is amazing.
We have that one and I missed (forgot!) the connection. It was a different season. Our church had changed a bit since then. The road has been a bit bumpier. I’m sure I need to dig that book out! Thanks for that prompt, Deb!
Penny, thank you for your wisdom. You're right. Seeking a spiritual path, staying humble., I think it's a daily practice until we are no longer here. The world is a hard place and confusion comes directly from the enemy. Sending you much love. ox
Deborah, this is so lovely and moving. I know there are many times when we look away from the truth because we’re blinded by glitz and glamor. Blessed are the peacemakers. Thank you for this.🙏❤️
Thank you Mary ❤️ It's true. We can be so easily distracted, "blinded." It can get under my skin that I would miss the beauty of what God has placed before me or the need of others. A simple smile, conversation can go so very far in someone's life. Sending you much love. ox
People have been the hands and feet of Jesus to us, we in turn, are the hands and feet of Jesus to others. I love the part of the young man waiting under the wisteria bush. I've been that person. Now I look for that person when God says pay attention. Blessings Deborah!

Ginger, yes. It doesn't get better than that when we grow to realize our blessings. I am so grateful you are now taking in the beauty of the wisteria, for far more than shelter, reflecting in your writing and yearning for a deeper relationship with Jesus. I truly ache for all you have been through and am glad you are here to share your stories. Sending you much love. ox
Beautiful Deborah and thank you! I always gravitated to the small and quiet. Somehow, being in church was about hearing my own voice as part of a big voice too! Bless you 🙏❤️
Thank you Jamie 🥰 I can really appreciate what you're saying. It's true. I can hear so many conversations and thoughts in a smaller environment. Sending my love and thank you 🙏🏻
You are doing God’s work before our eyes, sweet Deborah! And you see everything through your beauriful eyes and heart… you can never overuse the word. All things are beautiful if we open our arms and hearts! 🩷Bless you sweet girl for opening mine a bit wider today! 🥰
If that's trying to love like God, well, it's definitely work. I have a long way to go! and you're so right Joan, all things are beautiful if you open your arms 🙏🏻 Bless you too friend 😘 oxox

Oh my goodness, that is so cool!! I will have to go find your note!!
Thank you so much Jenn for reading and leaving such a kind comment. I loved those Sundays in Brooklyn ❤️ ox
You are welcome ❤️
I asked my three children to sit with the kids who seemed lonely in school from the time they were little.
That's what I'm going to tell my future kids too. It's a lovely act of kindness.

Thank you Deborah, tears came to my eyes thinking of the man under the wisteria tree. Seek and you will find truth. 🤗💫🙏💞

Our choir used to sing BTC songs. You can't resist the heart of those singers and songs.

Definitely! It’s a great read!!
Sometimes we mistake judgement for recognition. It sounds to me like your spirit is strong and connected to God.
Thanks for sharing!
