Poor Jonah, the reluctant prophet who was sent by God to preach repentance to the people of Ninevah; they agreed, led by their king and judgement was spared. Jonah was not happy that such wicked people were given a chance of redemption. I can understand his lack of happiness, but God works in mysterious ways.

Ninevah at the time was a great city; it is in modern day Mosul in Iraq. Can you imagine what would happen today if a Jewish prophet would preach redemption to any city of wicked people? And that they would heed his exhortations? It does not seem possible.

Truly, it would take great imagination to foresee such an event today. Perhaps, Deborah, you see something happening that will turn history on its head. Now, that would be an exciting event.

Perry! I love this! and YESSSSS. God does work in mysterious ways. We need a Jonah sent to the front lines of all the terror. You're right, it hardly seems possible without losing his/her life. There are many missionaries and preachers in the Middle East that have been leading underground prayer and revival meetings for years. Iraq has a HUGE movement for God. If only those that are abusing their people would open their eyes and ears, drop to their knees and surrender. I feel God is on a MIGHTY move throughout the world. I pray for all who are in charge of their nations to look to God, turn to Him first, and see the faces of humanity to be an image of God. To humbly seek Him in all they do. What a kind and compassionate world it would be. We can keep praying. I believe He is very busy giving all the nations a chance at redemption. It's a painful process and we can feel it in the never ending catastrophic events of the world from wars to disasters. So much death and destruction of humans and innocent animal life. I do have GREAT hope in the revival I am reading about and seeing throughout the world. I wish we heard more about it from mainstream media, but they seem to exist only to make us fear and worry. My daughter's in-laws are sharing the good news in Africa and it's been an amazing journey these last few years! People walk through heat, barefoot, for miles, by the thousands to get baptized, sing and pray. There is a HUGE hunger in the world. We live in nations with too much at our disposal. So much wealth and unhappiness. Until it is all shook-up and taken away it's a much harder road to redemption, faith, peace and happiness. Humans have to learn the hard way. And open their/our eyes to suffering.

Thank you Perry. oxox

Love this comment about Nineveh! It is something ti think about! Imagine if we had the revivals now they had in England with people preaching to great crowds and mass repentance!

Hi Deborah! I love how you capture the struggle of faith and doubt, but still hold onto hope. It’s such a great reminder that even in the chaos, God is still moving. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much Pastor Chris! God is definitely busy and on the move. It's overwhelming to live during these times. Praying and seeking mercy over our world. It's a crippling and painful chaos that I hope ends in far more revival than what I know is already happening. He wants every knee to bow down and we can feel the earth shaking. It's painful. At the same time I have great hope.

Awe thank you Jenn. It's honestly a supernatural feeling and I'm overwhelmed. My print isn't that good, can't draw a thing - but thought I'd see how far the poem would go into the circle. Kinda ended perfect! lol. oxox

Exquisite Deborah, and made more so by the spiral in your image. Together with your writing I’m reminded of the Golden Spiral and it’s divine proportion. 💜🙏💫🤗
