I'm new to your writing, and thus your story, but I hear something in these words, and I just want to affirm your journey. As a fellow traveler. You are heard.

Oh thank you Krissy. Should I say this gave me tears? oh boy.

We travel together. Just write it, right? Get through it. Keep going. Sending you much love. ox

Yes to all of this, Deborah! Happy or contented tears, I hope, and I’m so grateful to have fellow kindreds along on the journey. You don’t have to know someone face to face to understand some of the small, profound parts of them. <3

Thank you Krissy! I really need to catch your work and catchup. period! It's been a long week of feeling overwhelmed with the disaster in SoCal. Our son is still out on the power lines and we've both been busy with work, cleaning out, looking for ways to donate, etc., and I babysit the youngest grandchild. Holding everyone tight in prayers. I feel the exact same. I have met more kindred spirits here and in the "old days" of Instagram, just from words and pictures. It has been absolutely profound, the friendships formed. I hope you're doing well. Sending you my love. ox

Still holding you up in prayers and spirit as y’all navigate these difficult waters where you are. I hope your son is feeling supported and held by those around the world who he may not even know, but are linked to him through you and your speaking out the truth of your experiences. You’re running on energy supplied by the only One who can have absolute perfect perspective on all that’s going on! You will get through. Continue to keep me/us updated! <3

Thank you so much Krissy! I love how you articulated this. And yes, our family is rebuilding itself. I know God’s got this. It’s all His. The journey continues. oxox

Thank you Heidi. I’m still feeling it. Resting it out for a few days here. Now we have all this crazy historic wind and fires. So very sad. Bracing for the worst tonight. Haven’t lost power yet and praying for our oldest who is on the downed lines. Life keeps moving right? Sending you my love. ox

Amazing pictures and writing. "I tried to tell mom but she only sees beauty." This line hits home. Some of us are eternally optimistic. It's in our DNA. We aren't able to help the way some people need to be helped.

Joan, thank you so much. My mom is definitely that. I’m usually that way too, but when you get hit it changes you a little. I was always the first to help, so it’s weird when you feel like you need help too. Sending you a big hug for the new year. ox

Thank you for sharing your life with us Deborah. You paint such a picture. I see the dog, the coffees, you and your mom, wordle (even though I’ve never actually played it). I feel exhausted myself right now (stuff going off at home) but your words are feed me like a heartening stew. Xx

Oh wow, thank you Julie. I could feel you've been quiet lately, and I've been a bit quiet and still tired and scattered myself with all the fires. Our oldest is finally home for several days recuperating from working 24 hour rotating shifts for 2 weeks on the Eaton Fire, here in SoCal. He's a power linesman. Always a worry, but especially during these times. I'm glad you "got me" on this piece. I write the things that hit me. I think you do as well. I hope you're doing okay and finding your energy. January is full of apathy. I had signed up (bravely) for an art class and it was canceled due to winter class apathy the city lady said! lol. I was kinda bummed but will shoot for the spring class. I think the new year usually begins in February! Sending you my love. ox

Yes I paused my paid subscription as I just haven’t been doing anything and that made me feel quite guilty! Trouble at home with my son and then this weekend I fell and injured my knee…..still nothing like a new problem to change the focus from the old ones…..

Oh you must have been worried for your son, a real hero without a cape Deborah. Hope all that has calmed down now over there 🤞🙏❤️

Oh Julie! Oh Nooooooo! I am so sorry you fell. I tore my knee up years ago skiing and it’s no fun. I hope you haven’t done too much damage and are healing. And I’m sorry to hear your having trouble with your son :( It’s such a worry raising kids, especially if they have special needs. I will say extra prayers for you friend. ox

And yes, we were worried about our son on those lines, especially during the wind and fires. It was honestly insane stuff. It’s calm in that area now and he’s on a much needed break with his family. The fires are needing full containment and still raging in other areas of California sadly. Sending you much love. ox

This is spiritually magnificent! After I restacked a quote and finished reading it, I realized that my son was probably at that Ultra music festival. He went to one while he was in college in Miami. He loved techno and Avicii was a favorite of his. It’s uncanny sometimes how kindred our human spirits are.

Wow Cori! That's so cool! I have never been into EDM, but I'm really into music and people, love stories and get fascinated over music documentaries. This was just so sad. Avicii was a truly gifted young man. I'm glad your son got to see him. The crowd looks so fun. I was really feeling some internal pain, reflecting on losing a bit of myself. I was pretty undone in 2020, as were a lot of us. Sending you my love friend! I am so scattered and behind with so much going on here in SoCal. Thank you so much for sharing this too. oxox

I think ‘scattered and behind’ is a fitting mantra for 2024. I keep reminding myself that the most important things are happening apace and everything else might not be required for the present me. Giving yourself room and care might be the best antidote to the list. 🙏✌️

I agree! My friend said “Holy Interruption” is what we should be thinking. If we are adamant to do something, because we think we have to, but are interrupted by something else we feel deep down we should do, then do it! Let ourselves flow a bit into the next thing. Not chaos, or driving to Mexico because someone is ticking us off (lol), …but what is the Spirit saying? This is how I’ve come to writing and everything else. I’m on this path and I can’t explain it. I’m following the Light :)

CV lockdowns and psyops were intended to separate us from our essence. Now we have to find ourselves. You feel lost somewhere, like you fell down a rabbit hole. On this journey we are together, and we've learned so much, and grown spiritually despite the chaos that disrupted our freedom and connections. Through this journey we've discovered another layer to our existence. You look in the mirror and find another part of yourself you didn't know existed is there. Love you Deborah. 💜🙏🤗✨

Dear Charlotte, I have read and re-read this! It's so true. Everything we ever held dear was put into an absolute upheaval, and you knew that upheaval long before the lockdowns. We have discovered another layer to our existence. Being here on Substack was no coincidence for many of us. We have seen another part of ourselves. We have found ourselves renewed. Even better. Maybe the old parts still exist, they are just waiting in the shadows as we explore the magic of creating and fulfilling God's purpose for us. Healing is truly a gift from Him. Letting go of the old parts is okay. We really are multidimensional souls. I NEVER saw the things I am doing now like writing. Why do we mourn our old selves when the new ones are pretty cool? Thank you and thank you for sharing! I am very behind! love you! oxox

I watched an indie doc on Avicii. Youth, talent, joy.

I had never heard of him but I was looking into how much the music industry has twisted art! They've turned it all into a money machine long ago, and I do believe this is the plan: to abolish artistic endeavours. Creative art is something unique to human beings We're never going to see a baby piggy boogying except online, and then it's everywhere.

I don't know for sure that his death wasn't hoped for by the industry. I'm not sure that his death wasn't encouraged and semi-orchestrated by those music moguls.

Yeah, one never knows the intricate dealings in the industry. The music industry is especially hard and controlling. I think there is a great pushback coming. A great revival of the heart for creativity. I pray I’m right. Sending you much love Jenni. oxox

I agree with you whole heartedly. I pray you are right too about a revival.

The human spirit is powerful and can be blindingly bright no matter the small places it is valued and promoted. (By design, in my opinion, by Our Lord, Himself) Can never be extinguished.

Much love to you too, Deb!

Love your writings! :) Thank you, my friend

Thank you so much my sweet friend. It's been such a long few weeks. Poor Southern California. We are heartbroken but there is a great revival happening and that is the most beautiful part. The human spirit is so very powerful.

Much love back. ox
