I love this writing style with those little extra comments crossed out. That's really clever. And yes, we should all embrace our special qualities more and be happy we are the way we are. It's what makes us unique! I completely agree with all of this. Just have fun being you! It's what life is all about... 😎

Thank you so much Chris! It's been fun to write some light, yet meaningful pieces. I can get heavy. Writing my way through a grief journey, I have learned to embrace myself the most I ever have. Now I'm unwilling to be small for someone else. I just am. I am artsy fartsy perfectly imperfect 😅

It's very freeing! Perhaps it's aging. Anyways, everyone should try it! 🙌🏻

Yes, it is often those sadder moments we face that cause us to reflect on things, and grab life more with both hands. Because you have to. It's there to be cherished, explored and enjoyed, and shared with the people who mean the most to us... 😎

In the end, although you can’t see it at all, you are thankful, grateful, for the growth. It’s miraculous for me to know where I was four years ago and now. Thank you Chris. ox

Earth, Wind and Fire…what memories for me…from the disco dance floors of the 1970’s. Fantasy a GREAT song. Thanks, Deborah, for this lovely piece and thoughts of good. WEW

My son, Frank started a class for kids in the Summertime, called "Fine Arts in the Park". For the sake of the kids and the parents, he shortened it to: "F'arts in the Park". It lasted a good few years and the kids and parents learned to make Fine Art from junk, basically; repurposed stuff. Anyhoo, you reminded me to remember that ! <3 (Fine Art is art as is seen in the eye of the beholder) And if it's a kid, there is a lot of Artsy Fartsy stuff to be happy about. :)

That’s HILARIOUS Jenni! F’arts!!! I can hear the kids and parents laughing! Good on Frank! That’s awesome. The after-school artsy farts club!

I absolutely love how you embrace yourself, and love who you are—that’s beautiful Deborah! I recently discussed self love with another writer. There are those moments you get a glimpse of yourself accidentally in a mirror or video or photo and you think, “who is that person?” And you realize it’s you, and you like who you see. I love how we can see ourselves through these different lines. Our own glasses, and through those of others. Thank you so much for writing this piece. I enjoyed it so much. Of course one of my favorite bands of all time is earth wind and fire! Thank you for the music! It makes me happy!

Thank you soooo much Charlotte! It’s been a real heavy few years and although I go deep and can feel for the world at the drop of a hat, I am lighter in my skin and that’s good. I learned through the hell of loss that I am who I am. I have worked on all the areas that need it and I just love being who I am. I love life, people, art, music and artsy fartsying. lol. I am now catching the gray in the mirror and it’s like, “okay God, here I am. I’m good. Thank you for my life.”

Have a beautiful weekend ahead and sending you my love always. ox

This is so fun, you had me grinning from ear to ear the whole read ☺️. I, too, feel up the fabrics. I might have a not so secret fabric hoard. Beautiful message of encouragement to just be you, I love it. Thanks, Deb ❤️

ha ha! Thank you Jenn! We must be related! lol. Hoarding textiles is normal right? I learned a long time ago that I was buying clothes just because of the material! (not always the best decision! ha ha)

We have to be us! If not, then who else can be? Glad you felt encouraged! It’s very freeing to come through so much heaviness and just feel light at times. It’s like “Hello old self, you can come out and be you. It’s okay.” ox

It’s totally normal. Texture and a heavy emphasis on color/pattern for me. I love fabric. That’s funny you buy clothes based on feel, I love it. It best feel nice if it’s against your skin all day!

Glad your darkness has passed and you are living in light again ❤️

Thank you Jenn. I have always loved textiles. I have a favorite random book, called Flying South that you might love. It’s by Barbara Rowell, world famous rock climber/photographer, Galen Rowell’s wife. Sadly, the died in a plane crash in 2003. Their story is amazing - she was in the textile industry. I absolutely love his work and have a few books of his landscapes and visited the gallery in Bishop a few times - I believe it’s closed now.

I felt so light recently. I do go back and forth as grief and the world’s pain does that to us soft souls - but definitely embracing the light more. oxoxox

Oh how tragic. I will have to check out that book, it sounds very interesting, thank you for the recommendation!

YOU DID IT NOW - I had to go watch all of the Earth, Wind and Fire videos - saw them three times in concert, and HAD to send "Let's Groove" to my girls for them to play for the grandkids at breakfast today, the last day of school! My youngest (42) just texted back "Um...just played and it will invite a dance party, is that what you want?" OF COURSE that's what I want! This'll be fun!

ha ha ha! I LOVE Earth, Wind & Fire! Can’t get enough when I’m in the mood! That’s AWESOME you were inspired to send “Let’s Groove” to the grandkids! and your daughter’s response was hilarious! Dance parties are very important to living well! Thank you so much Bob for reading and dealing with my Artsy Fartsy self :) oxox

How cute and funny you are! This picture of you says so much…love it! Like I could be walking by and we’d just start sharing random things right there in the lot! That’s you! I’m not artsy but ditsy fartsy yes… lots of names, but you’re right; they fit, they are me, and I own them all!! “I can’t not be me!” Great piece, girl!
