We should never lose hope in the work that God has promised to do. He rises above politics and cultures and pettiness. It does not depend upon one frail human being. Now, we shall see what the King of kings and Lord of lords will do! Many blessings to you and yours, Deb. OX

Can you find me a rapper?

Thank you dear friend. God is good to help me pour in a way that I can't explain. I'm trying to come up with a rap name and put it on a hat for my birthday :)

(never saw it coming at this stage of life! ha ha!) oxox

Jody, do you know any rappers that can read this for me? lol (I'm imagining your face! :) God is a very surprising God because I have zero idea where this is all coming from. With my mum only just arriving (with me) at our home, last Tues. night, for the next few months, I was in full blown adjustment (almost anxious) when this was all entering my brain. I got out of the shower Wednesday morning, wrote a few lines that came to me, mid conversation with mum, wrote a few more, and by Thursday tea time - asked for a quiet hour to get it out of my system in some type of format! I keep thinking I need to write a story and another flow poem comes from left field. Never saw it coming. Now my brother is thinking up rap handles :)

Hope this finds you doing well! oxox

Holy spirit is pouring out on you! I guess if you want to come up with a rap handle it should have something to do with cameras or photos or something. 😊

Just wow! I am stunned how words flow so easily, seamlessly from your heart to your fingers. This should be read aloud… so visually powerful, Deborah… you’ve just won Substack today!! This speaks to all of us …color doesn’t matter! It also give hope… can you feel it between the lines?!? 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙

Dear Joan! Oh friend, we are a great example of solid friendship in this scattered and torn-up nation! I have no idea where all this rap poetry is coming from but I believe God's got me talking to everyone and that's the way it should be. We are all His children and I know that many are mad, upset, and many, many are very hopeful - but not about everything - because there is no single human that can handle us all. We just have to keep going, reaching for our lives, let go, let others live theirs, calm down and be kind. You are an amazing example of that and I love you. Thank you so much for this. oxox

ha ha! Just need the name, the hat, the rapper for hire and I'm good to go! Wish I could rap it the way I hear it - but the true rappers would be way better! Love you brother. (btw, this was a miracle with little miss sunshine in the house on her repeat mode and mom mode. But you know this.) oxox

Thanks Deborah, said like a professional writer, which you are:

Dear Martin, I have never been called a professional writer and this really made me smile big. I feel like you just officiated that title! I was certainly thinking I needed several more years to call myself one! Still do. I am very humbled. I absolutely loved my career as a photographer for many, many years and when I lost all my contracts in the pandemic, I turned to writing to keep creating and to keep going. I have no idea, lately, where all this flow poetry and rap stuff is coming from - but it feels mighty good! God has me speaking to everyone. I hope. He's got us. He's got our nation. Hope this finds you doing well. Thank you so much. oxox

Would love to see some of your photos! Give us a retrospective!!

I was a photographer till I ran out of money, then digital photography came in and I have not been impressed with the product or the cameras. Could you suggest a not too expensive digital SLR that would do most of the things the old film camera's use to do?

Spot on. How so many of us have felt. Pushed and shoved into tiny spaces that we don't ever want to live in. Freedom for me is making my own mistakes and being allowed to, not having someone opening a weak safety net that will only catch me when falling from my mistakes but never be there when I try to get on the road to freedom again.
