To the restless youth and to us. To those who wonder and wander through life looking for love, searching for an ideal. There is an often unspoken magic in aging with one whose layers reveal love in a grounded beauty that nourishes beyond the tumultuous romantic needs of our young minds. I wish I had learned this early on.
While the world tells us to attain the unattainable… we bypass the one who loved the sorrows of our changing face.
Gratitude to the steady soul here on earth, and to the One above, that loves no matter what. Blessed to be truly loved beyond my romanticized views of the word.
When you are old and grey and full of sleep, And nodding by the fire, take down this book, And slowly read, and dream of the soft look Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep; How many loved your moments of glad grace, And loved your beauty with love false or true, But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you, And loved the sorrows of your changing face; And bending down beside the glowing bars, Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled And paced upon the mountains overhead And hid his face amid a crowd of stars. - William Butler Yeats

Loved it! That poem is one of my all-time favorites.
