I hope you all had a good weekend! As for us we enjoyed a rare moment in time, playing dress-up, and attended a wedding. It wasn’t just the average wedding but one devoted to a young American Celtic literary master and her Irish-found husband. They did everything their way and defined what it means to “be yourself.”
Being yourself is never easy. Whether you have differing opinions about life, dress differently or express yourself colorfully., living out your true self is a life journey at the very least. At best, we continue to age gracefully, learn, change (for the better we hope), and accept the fact that we are all human, living in a broken world, subjected to brokenness. I believe the key to living is to “guard your heart,” meaning be wise and discerning to the worldly things that will come against you… and grace. Grace for others and for ourselves as we grow in this world. From grace, comes the extension of a supernatural love that only a Man who walked the earth a mere 33 years could teach.
I am posting a story from Glenn Greenwald below that I encourage you all to read. It begins with a good description of the background of Cabo Daciolo and then a personal story about him and how he has blessed Glenn Greenwald’s family during a very painful and present time. It is worth every bit of 14 minutes.
There is so much I gleaned but this jumped out at me: “Politics matters. But, by design, it often obscures the common humanity that drives most of us.”
To end, by design, we are made to receive the good news., to feel the warmth of light pouring over us, to be the light., blocking out the intimidation of darkness.
As seen on a recent trip home…
