9 things I learned this week + Jim-Bob.

Here we go..

1. If you let a small, bossy, destructive cat commandeer a brand new extra large dog bed, all will be quiet on the western front. She hasn’t been spotted anywhere else for a week.

2. I love tortoises.

3. I think the Veep tokes.

4. The White House got snowed on and all is normal.

5. Older people can fall down in parking lots. It’s been happening a lot lately. Check-in with an elderly person who lives alone.

6. The more “diverse” we are, the less diverse we are. Modern diversity divides.

7. Aly Cook is fighting for the forgotten, cancelled and suppressed in New Zealand. This should be a case study for great empathy and back-to-normal-healthcare. It’s time.

8. Biden-Harris double down on ocean life and this is utterly tragic. I am brave enough to say “mark my words.” I want to “keep” the mammals.

9. The people who consistently support and love you through thick and thin? thank you is never enough.

10. We need The Waltons, the stories and the fans…. to last FOREVER.

In other news, I am addicted to committing random acts of gardening in inappropriate clothing, like my pajamas at 6 a.m. or date clothes at 7 p.m. - it just depends on the week. Insert big straight somewhat crooked toothy smile. I am grateful for this DIY addiction that has been cheaper than therapy.

Also, in reference to #10 above, this happened this week (below): You kinda have to be a Waltons fan, so it’s okay if you bypass it. For the last few years I finally dove into my past, joining The Walton’s Forum online, Walton’s Remembered on Facebook and The Walton’s TV Show on Instagram. The kindest, most lovely people exist in these places. I have been immensely blessed with beautiful new friends that I know are all part of the Perfect timing that says “everything is going to be okay.” Keep living (and gardening).
