I want to post a happy Spring piece. This is not that. I want those that are suffering in darkness to experience a Spring of Goodness and Hope. A Revival for God. A Spring of Peaceful Conversation or Protest. Lately I have received many streams of conscious thought and have sat to write them without changes. I have never experienced this kind of lament. Peace be with you. ox
Above, during the Iranian Hostage Crisis which lasted 444 days. Many held prayer vigils and peacefully protested.
Like in the image above, all the students of today had to do was protest a war peacefully. Protest the fact that it was extremely wrong for Hamas to rape and pillage, like barbarians, and even more of a bummer our president provided bombs to Israel while also dropping food and supplies to Hamas. We know the poor people of Gaza do not get the supplies. Hamas is a dictatorship and everything the people need is taken by Hamas for their own benefit, including all the cement for their massive underground tunnel operations vs. infrastructure for the people of Gaza.
We have 100% lost our way “sucking minds down a dark rabbit hole of ideology” if we are supporting the above.
The extinction of humanity is forever upon us.
September 12th 2001 was a day, no one who witnessed this atrocity/attack on U.S. soil, will ever forget. We came together as a nation. Now students on university campuses and others protesting around the world see 911 as necessary. Another 100% surprise barbaric attack.
And this last night at Columbia University in New York City Take a look. In modern day history this is also called an “insurrection.” A janitor, paid $19/hour to work for these kids, was held captive and could not leave. Windows were smashed out with a hammer and insurrectionist flags were hung.
There are 110 active wars in the world today (I am on repeat with this). Many listed here killed thousands if not millions, some in modern day times in the most barbaric of ways and it is obviously still happening.
“People” are believing that each other is the worst of each other. Who are they looking to? We are all God’s children first and foremost. Children raised to believe the worst of others, by their ethnicity, race, color, religious beliefs, etc., is no way to send them off to the school playground. So who’s responsibility is it to raise kind and loving children? I can’t believe I’m writing this stuff.
Nero, Herod, Phalaris, Attila the Hun, The Romans, Germanics, Zetian, John 1 (Robin Hood), Genghis Khan, Henry VIII, Ivan the Terrible, The Vikings (terror group), Bloody Mary 1, Leopold II, Mussolini, Stalin (The Great Purge 1934), Hitler, Franco, Duvalier, Bokassa (he ate the people he killed and/or fed them to animals btw), Idi Amin, Augusto Pinochet, Pol Pot (The Killing Fields), “Butcher of Addis,” Mengistu Haile Mariamyet, Saddam Hussein, Slobodan Milošević, Kim Jong-il and many more. China, for years has forced hundreds of thousands of ethnic Uighurs and other minorities into slavery, keeping them in camps.
We buy from China. All U.S. presidents have to play wisely this game as they shake hands and sit with Xi Jinping, or Vladimir Putin, and others, while they keep up terror campaigns, slavery and oppression.
The recent fall of Afghanistan, handed back over to terror groups, and previous, the war in Iraq (Desert Storm) and on and on and on and on. The U.S., an imperfect nation that strives for better, trying to make peace in nations where there hasn’t been peace for centuries. Lost men and women fighting wars that continue because “we hope” for better. For these countries.
The beheading of journalist Daniel Pearl by Al-Qaeda and the burning alive of a Jordanian pilot by ISIS are images from terror groups that cannot be forgotten. They represent the practice of never-ending barbarism.
When I think about the people of Gaza I am reminded of the fall of Somalia. This is where the infamous Black Hawk Down took place. There’s another example of human suffering at the hands of those who would rob, murder, rape and pillage from the people. My oldest was six and I was reading that all U.S. and foreign aid was stolen from the people by the militant takeovers. I distinctly remember reading Vanity Fair stories, laid out by real journalists, about how the people were forced on camera, by militants, to hold the aid, smile and say “thank you.” Then it was taken from them by the militants.
Propaganda. We buy it every single day.
Did I mention what is continuing in Haiti? or Nigeria? in many African countries.
However, good news. There is a lot of revival for Jesus in these countries as well, although they can die for coming to God. The underground church in nations like Iraq, China and the revival campaigns in Uganda are proof of a great desire to know Jesus and “hope.” It’s also here in the U.S. We just don’t hear about it.
Here are the terror groups rampaging our world. From the drug cartels who commit unbelievable heinous crimes of barbarianism to the ones listed - this is the world we live in and it has been since the “garden.”
The Civil War, WW1 and WW2 began over oppression, terrorism and barbaric crimes against humanity.
The Jewish people, for centuries, have been murdered, raped and pillaged of their humanity. After 6 million perished in Nazi Concentration Camps in WW2, Israel became the tiny piece of land designated for their future survival, for their “peace.” The rest of their story is Biblical. Judge for yourself. It will never end as we are seeing.
“Leadership and decisions” must be made through sincere prayer and a belief in God “first.” There must be accountability to basic goodness.
This, in my opinion, is the only way to be held accountable for what happens to nations and the people who live and strive in them. If chaos and death befall a nation then leadership has failed on every level, top down. The people, in turn, have also relied too much on their false god/leader. The term, “follow the money” (power) is true. There is only one King. “Militaries” were set-up to defend hostile acts by outsiders. We can live with them or without them. Do you trust that we can live without anyone to run to our defense? Can you lie down as someone is invading your home? It’s a good question. One of “natural instinct.” The pacifists who died on October 7th were ready. This is one way of living.
“A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word, 'darkness' on the walls of his cell.” - C.S. Lewis
Powerful Deborah, your poem evokes strong emotions by addressing the pain in the world.
Out of darkness, there's still hope and small glimmers of good in future! Pray, pray, pray 🙏🙏🙏
That's a powerful poem, and the pain for the world's suffering is palpable. Your call for revival and peaceful conversation resonates deeply. While the darkness can feel overwhelming, there's always a chance to find slivers of hope. Perhaps a future piece could explore those glimmers of good, even if they're small.
