What is this thing Earth? Mountains white cast in pink snow-capped winter seasons of death and trees lie dormant fanning twigs above man's wires as if to say I am still beautiful nothing stings with Him the soot remains the ice cracks water cleanses the birds fly and babies cry again and we together fell silent like the mountain weeping struggling to breath her message back to us. Again.
We lost a brother yesterday. He knew the Lord. He was my husband’s older brother and best friend. It was sudden and too soon. A legend to all who knew him. He was strong and brave always. He recently fought a great firestorm from the Bridge Fire up in Mount Baldy, California, where the mountain village hugs our family hard. Thankful for the tight community, and very grateful for the beautiful example he set. Mike was a helper in every sense of the word. He was a servant to everyone and anyone who needed anything. He left a great family behind who are hurting immensely. Oh how we will miss him.
Earth lost so many souls yesterday. Every day. The hurt is real. Their memories are dear. May they all be a blessing.
War, hurricanes, fires, floods and so much loss. We just don’t know when.
I hesitated to write, but God gave me this in a moment of weeping this morning and He is guiding me to write through the helplessness.
Now is the time to pray on our knees. Now is the time to live. The battle is very real. Hug your family and friends if you can. Hold them tight in your heart. God is Sovereign and He is on the move.
1 Corinthians 15:55-58
